The Path to Wholeness: LOVE

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Hi Everyone,

In honor of the upcoming Valentines Day holiday, I am planning to devote the next few blog posts to a subject I feel passionately about: LOVE. And in hopes of helping you stay connected to those you love, next week Ill be posting downloadable pdfs of love-themed pages from my Zenspirations® Color, Create, Pattern & Play books for you to embellish, color and give to someone special. If there is enough interest I will also post a couple card designs. So if youd like to download free Zenspirations cards, please leave a comment to let me know whether you want to color it yourself or youd prefer to have one Ive already colored. Also let me know what kind of card you want me to post. For example, if there are a lot of people who want a “For a Wonderful Mom on Valentines Day” card, I can post that; if there are more votes for a card which says “For a Special Friend on Valentines Day” card, Ill post a design with that message… so even if youve never left a comment before, please take a few minutes to let me know if you’d like a card, and what youd like it to say.

Speaking of comments, I dont know if Ive told you how much I enjoy reading what you write. Quwatha, Sue, Elaine, Theresa, Debra, Sandy, Sharon, Sarah, Donna, Kara, Kathleen, Linda, Clover, Alyce, Janet, Kim, Laura, Jackie, Howard, Maria, beej, Jane, Barbara, Fran, MYT CR8TiV, Elisa, Wendy, Mary, Terri, Anne, Susan, Sharyn, Grace Ann, and all of the other ‘regulars – it means a lot to me that you take time to share your thoughts. THANK YOU! I often want to write back, and have been feeling frustrated that that the blog platform Im using doesnt allow me to respond to your comments. So Im embarking on a new adventure—Im going to be reworking my website and blog to facilitate interactive communication. Id welcome suggestions on platforms you like which allow for reciprocal conversation.

If you enjoy reading the blog, but havent subscribed yet, please take a moment to Subscribe to the Zenspirations® blogId like to be able to stay in touch no matter where I wind up hosting the website.

Everybody wants to be loved… love is essential to our souls, just as food is to our bodies. To me, love is more than a feeling; it’s a way of embracing the world and everyone in it. Love is a thousand little things which flow together to create an atmosphere in which kindness and hope can flourish. There are many kinds of love, but they all have one thing in common– love grows connections between hearts. When you look through the eyes of love, you realize that each person you meet has unlimited potential. You’ll see promise instead of imperfection, and beauty instead of bitterness. Let love fill your heart and there won’t be room for fear or negativity. Look with love, and you’ll see past someone’s character flaws to the spark of holiness inside their soul.

The love you share radiates outward… like ripples made by dropping a small stone into a pond. Love flows and grows… touching lives and healing hearts. The more love you give, the better you feel. Let love envelop you… Let love connect and consecrate you… Let love fill you and flow through you… Let love make you whole.

Stay Zenspired,

Joanne

  23. Thank you for your generosity. I would love to attempt to colour it on my own. I have always wanted to have a more whimsical look to my lettering and your designs are incredibly inspiring. I hope I can do your beautiful design justice! Thank you so very much. (Love, in general, is my choice.)

  24. Even though I love the coloring you do on your work, I do enjoy the process of coloring so I vote for the uncolored cards. I would be able to use the special friend/someone card. Thanks so much for your inspiration and love.

  25. I love your sketches! I have brand new Sakura Moonlight pens coming in a couple of days, so I would love one for my Mom that I can color and embelish myself. Thank you and God Bless You!

  27. I am a subscriber to your blog and your's is the ONLY blog I subscribe to. I absolutely L-O-V-E your work. Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your creations with the rest of the world. I have tried — many times — to follow your instructions and draw and color following your videos and I would like to continue to do so. Therefore, I would prefer an image I could color myself — practice – practice – practice! Love you!

  29. I have followed your work through various sites and just recently learned about your blog so signed up. I love your work and your willingness to teach and share–thank you SO much! I would love to color from your work–just another way to practice my work too! Thanks!

  30. Love your inspirational blogs. Your words always resonate with me and I enjoy your site. Would love to see a generic card and either you colour or I colour would be fine.

  31. I love the "LOVE" from this post that you created! Your work is so beautiful and inspiring! I just ordered a few of your designs from the stamp company in Williamsburg. They are awesome! I will be able to create amazing works of art with your designs! Thank you Joanne!

  32. Hi Joanne,
I have been reading your post for about a year now. I love all the beautiful work you have done.
I do have one question that you have not addressed in any of your post, if you did I missed it.
What is the best way to store all the great pens that Sakura has. I see that in your videos you always have them in a cup or jar.
Is standing them on end the best or should I lay them flat in a box or tray?

    Blessing,
    Vickey

  33. Hello Joanne, I do not often leave comments to your blog, though I am so admirative for your letterings ! I would love to have a sample to colour myself… thank you for your sharings !

  34. Joanne,
I have to say that I recently came across your Dangles & Designs Workbook in Michael's Crafts, & have since bought every book I can get my hands on… A few Coffee Mugs too!
Your work is inspiring and beautiful! I have been drawing every night since… Something that I have always enjoyed doing, but my Passion is HoopDancing, which leads me to what I would love for a Valentines Day Card… I would love one fro my clients!
My mission there is also to inspire people with positive, healing words & vibes, helping them (& myself) deal with depression, anxiety, OCD, etc…
I have met a wonderful group of people who are getting themselves not physically fit, but spiritually, mentally & emotionally!
I must thank you for all the joy you have brought to my life personally.
    A Million Thanx!
    Jamie Torres,
    Peace Hoops.

  35. Joanne ~ I'm a new subscriber to your blog and I've enjoyed it very much. I'd be happy with any card at all. Your work is beautiful.
    Thank you.

  36. I just found your blog. I've been watching your Youtube videos for Sakura for awhile now. You are sooooo talented and I have so much to learn from you. Thank you!! I love your designs and I also love to color so whatever you post for the Valentine card is perfectly fine with me.

  37. Thank you, Joanne, for your heartfelt inspiration. I love the way you see beauty in each person.
"Let love connect and consecrate you."
    Beautiful.
I have already shared this blog post on my FB page…I want all my friends to experience your creative heart.

I would love a Valentine's card for a special friend. I'd like to color it myself. Hope it has some dangles!

As for your website…Wordpress is very user friendly…if it's robust enough for your needs. I use it in its simplest form. But I know many companies build their website with WordPress.

God bless you my most preciously talented treasure of a friend!

    ~Wendy

  38. Such beautiful words!! How often we close our hearts and minds to love because of past hurts; we become bitter and unforgiving, afraid to let others in because of fear. The beauty of love is that is can show itself through all the negative because it is brighter and stronger than our fears and hurts!!
As I continue healing from surgery, your blog and videos bring such happiness to my days! I would love to share a piece of your work with my mom's and would love to attempt to color myself!

  39. Thank you for your willingness to share! If possible, I think it would be great to have a page that is already colored as well as a blank page! We could use the colored page as inspiration to color our own page! And I would prefer just a generic Valentine card that you could personalize yourself! Thanks again for your kindness! I LOVE all your work!

  40. i am looking for something beautiful …but MANLY ! i can do hearts and flowers for all the gals , but find only goofy/cartoonish things for my man and son . they are both artists so i want to give them something tasteful and artsy and masculine…tall order for Valentines's day . BTW they don't hunt or fish 🙂

  41. Beautiful! I am glad I found a way to connect to your Art. Having been inspired by it, I do some myself. I would like to see a "Special Friend" card for Valentine's Day. Thank you.

  42. I love your work. I would love a card for my son. I would also love to be able to color it myself. Thank you!

  43. I love your work. I would love a card for my son. I would also love to be able to color it myself. Thank you!

  44. I love your work. I would love a card for my son. I would also love to be able to color it myself. Thank you!

  45. First let me say you are an inspiration, or should I say Zenspiration. 🙂 I think I would want to color them. Do you have coloring pages? This is my first visit to your blog…off to browse around.

  46. Just found your website a few nights ago! Looking forward to seeing all your new designs! Thanks again for sharing your wonderful God-given talent!
Do you have a special card just for daughters or granddaughters?
