Live by Inspiring Others to Fly

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Hi Everyone,

I was thrilled to be able to include the tag line for Zenspirations®, “Live by Inspiring Others to Fly“, in my new line of rubber-stamps for Spellbinders. I asked my friend Dawn Winburn, an amazing stamper and crafter, to make a few samples. She started by making a dimensional easel featuring the tag line:

Here’s a closeup so you can see the detail:

Since so many people are getting into Bible Journaling, Dawn used this same stamp set to decorate a Bible page. First she stamped the images:

Next she used colored pencils to bring the images to life:

As a finishing touch Dawn added a ribbon page marker with a die-cut butterfly at the bottom.

The line I created for Spellbinders has 10 different clear stamp sets, one of which has it’s own set of dies. I actually designed the line to be multi-purpose: all of the stamps are the perfect width to be used in the 2″ margins of a journaling Bible, but can also be used to create a variety of home decor and paper craft projects, such as these bookmarks:

Dawn also made this uber-cool plaque, which I immediately hung up in the studio:

One of the things I’m always excited about is seeing how people incorporate my line art into their creative endeavors. I hope Dawn’s stamp artistry will inspire you to try your hand at stamping.

CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT!!! I’m planning to add some new products to the webstore, and would love to know what items would interest YOU. Are you looking for coloring and drawing tools? Bible Journaling supplies? Zenspirations licensed designs? Would you like me to make prints of some of the art I share in the blog available? What about hand-painted or original Zenspirations art? More books? I’d be grateful for your thoughts. As an incentive, if you leave a comment letting me know what items you’d like me to add to the Zenspirations webstore, and you could win your choice of:

One of the Zenspirations Clear Rubber-Stamp Sets  that I designed for Spellbinders

One of the Zenspirations Inspired Journaling Stencils  that I designed for The Crafter’s Workshop, or

Or one of the new Zenspirations ‘Designs for Watercoloring’ pads that I designed for Strathmore

I’ll pick one name at random from the comments left before midnight, April 30th, 2017, and send that person their choice of a Spellbinders rubber-stamp set, an Inspired Journaling stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop, or Strathmore’s new Designs for Watercoloring pad. Thanks, in advance, for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it!

I’m looking forward to our first-ever Zenspirations Video Conferences this week. Session one will be Wednesday, April 26th, at 3:30 pm Eastern time, and Session two will be Sunday, April 30th, at 7:00 pm Eastern time. Here’s what you’ll need to do to participate.

Step one: Make sure you have installed the Google Chrome browser (not Safari or Internet Explorer). If you are hoping for one of the 10 video spots, you’ll need a computer/phone/tablet with a camera and microphone.

Step two: Make sure you are somewhere with high speed internet. If you aren’t, there will probably be a ‘lag’ of some kind.

Step three: Click this link to join the meeting: https://join.me/joannefink

Optional Step four: If you would like me to e-mail you the link, and a reminder an hour or so before the conference call, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Please write VIDEO CONFERENCE REMINDER REQUEST in the subject. I look forward to visiting with you!

Before closing this week I wanted to share the calendar page I designed for May:

  1. Joanne, your stamps! I’m going online tomorrow to get them! I actually still have a cart open iostamps.com where some of the ones I don’t have are one sale. Hopefully by next week I’ll be able to get from both places.
As for the contest & what I would most like to be available through your website would be artwork more than art supplies.
I’ve had some ‘issues ‘ (seems too ‘big ‘ for the word I’m looking for) when placing orders through your website though, but, as always, keep records & am also knowledgeable if you need help fixing any of it.
I’ve really been wanting monograms recently, & the Strathmore watercolor art books are awesome.
Things like that would be my vote for new merch.
But, you know me… I love All your stuff so you’d make a sale anyway. Lol
Thanx for the May calendar. I use them for so many different things, I love them!
Speaking of calendars.. I remember you promising me a 2017 one. Lol

  2. I would love if I could purchase your rubber stamps here in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. I bought stamps from US and was stung by Royal Mail for charges because Customs wanted VAT. I am very keen on Dangles and Monograms. Thanks for all your sharing of your gifting.

  3. Joanne how could I ever choose an item for you to stock I have to say all of the items you mentioned! Everything is so lovely.

  4. So inspiring to see all you have created! I hope you will carry all your new Zenspirations stamps, dies, and stencils on your webstore. Also I hope you will have your new Calendars when they come out. Looking forward to connecting with everyone on Sunday evening.

  5. Oh, those rubber stamp sets would be heavenly!!! But even if I don’t win, I thank you so much for all you do and share with us! Keep on inspiring!!

  6. Strathmore’s new Designs for Watercoloring pad I just got new watercolor pencils that I am exploring with. These would be great to try them out on.

  7. I would like to see more lettering and how to do it creatively plus incorporating more Hebrew lettering….thank you

  8. For the Contest! Hi Joanne…. I’d love to win the contest… Let’s see… I’d like to see some Washi tape with your designs on them!

  9. Joanne,
Thank you so much for making rubber stamps. They are great, just what I can use.
Please considering making maybe a coloring book of book makers.
    I love your beautiful work.
    Thanks, Judy

  10. Hello Joanne I think I would like to see more bible journal supplies. I love all the ideas but know I can pick only one

  11. Hi I hope your trip with Jonathan went as well as the one with Sam looking at colleges.
Yes I am planning to be on the call Wed. I’d like a reminder – will email you.
Can’t wait to play with some of your new stamps. They are a must add to your shop since you have none there now. How about a blog or video web conference on how to use them! It’s been so long since I’ve used rubber stamps I’ve probably forgotten everything about how to use them.
I’d also like to see some Judaic items added to your shop, I know you have the one book and several of your stamps and stencils can be used but I’d really appreciate some actual Jewish themed items. My bet is I’m not the only Jewish person who would like to find them.
    ((Hugs))
    Toni

  12. I really like your new stamps and stencils. I am a color enthusiast and I love card making so any new products that fall in those lines would be great! As always thanks for the inspirations and the beautiful ideas!!

  13. I have been waiting and watching for the stamps you designed for Spellbinders. Love them all. Anxios to create some mixed media items. Don’t know how I can suggest anything new I’d like to see….But guess it would be more Bible related bookmark stamps.

  14. I wish your stamps and stencils would be available on the webstore. Love your stamps!

  15. Joanne, everything you do is beautiful! I would love to see all of the items you mentioned, but pages of your original artwork to color would be extra lovely. Thank you for sharing! God bless you!

  16. Hi Joanne, I would like to see a book on calligraphy or decorative lettering. Watching your tutorials you make the lettering flow and look so easy. I know that it is not easy but requires a lot of practice. Just a thought. Can you send me a link for the Sunday webinar.
    Thanks.

    Mary Ann

  17. I saw your stamps online and was pleasantly surprised! They are a perfect addition to your Bible Journaling book. All of the things you offer us are good choices and help us be more creative.

  18. As each week goes by, I do more and more with Mixed Media.Your stamps are lovely Joanne, and it would be a lovely thing to own some of these.I have some of your books already. I’ll keep an eye out for the stamps.

  19. More STENCILS STENCILS Please. I am in love with those!! Would like the larger ones to be available also plus anything heart-themed always catches my eye. Additional items would be more bookmarks and more lettering used creatively even though that makes it more than 1 idea.

  20. More books, please. I would also love to be able to purchase some of your licensed designs and artwork form the blog. And coloring, drawing, and Bible journaling tools and supplies. It’s clearly obvious that the idea you had some years ago is not just a “flash in the pan!” Thank you, thank you, thank you, Joanne. You are an inspiration to me in so many areas.

  21. I love the stamps! I’m going to have to get some of those! It’s hard to pick items for the website, as I love all of your things! It would be great to get more Zenspiration products on the website. I’ve found the bible journaling information and products helpful. I really love the new Strathmore watercolor tablets! The are wonderful with the Koi markers. Any chance you will be making some larger ones? I’d love to have some larger options, especially of the flowers and butterflies! Hope you are well.
    Blessings,

    Kristen and Aliyah

  22. I like the water colors and the calendars the best! I also love honestly every thing you do!!

  23. This is for the contest. It’s my first time visiting here and what brought me here is a video I watched of you demonstrating calligraphy pens. So, I would say that I like to see some coloring and/or drawing tools. P.S. I already have your Zenspirations book which is awesome!
