Delightful Discoveries

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for the kind comments left on last week’s blog! Hearing your thoughts– and seeing the wonderful art you share in our Facebook group– inspires me, and helps me feel connected to you and to the creative force which flows through us all.

I was delighted to ‘Discover’ that the overwhelming majority of votes were for the open format design, because it’s my favorite, too. I had to tweak it a bit to fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet. Here’s the final image of our first word-of-the-month for 2018:

I am excited about the discoveries the Zenspirations® community will make as we embark on this new venture, and invite you to print out multiples of this design so you can experiment with techniques, and different ways to use the layout. As always, I hope you’ll use my work as a springboard for your own creative efforts… Feel free to share this with your artsy and spiritual friends, and invite them to share their work, too, so we can inspire each other.

Below are some of the very first drawings I did in 2009, before I even thought of the name Zenspirations:

It’s when I allow myself to get lost in the line that I find myself in a zen-like state, and it’s when I’m in this ‘zone’ that lines and words seem to flow from my pen– almost without my being aware of them. Even after almost nine years, I still love the interaction of ink on paper… it’s part of what makes my ‘morning journaling’ a sacred practice. These are some of the very first Zenspired words I wrote:

To complement my older work, I also wanted to share one of my latest projects– the Emoji Sticker App that I’ve been working on for the past several months. I know a lot of you have been patiently awaiting their release, and I’m hopeful that they’ll be available in the APP store by the end of the month. The good news is that they will only be $0.99! The first collection to launch, Get Well Wishes, has 25 different images; mostly text with a few icons. Initially it will only be available for iPhones & iPads. Here’s a sneak peek:

Now that the “Get Well Wishes” collection is ready to launch, I’m going to focus on building a collection of 25 “Prayers & Blessings”. Here are some of the images I’m thinking of including:

If you have a favorite phrase, scripture or saying that you’d like me to incorporate into the Prayer collection, leave a comment letting me know what it is, and I’ll do my best to include it. I am always grateful for your suggestions!

Before closing tonight, I wanted to share my upcoming speaking and signing schedule, and invite you to join me if you’ll be in the area. ll be speaking and doing book signings over the next few weeks.

JOURNEYS of HOPE, HEALING & HEALTH

February 12-17, 2018, setting sail from Tampa, FL for a five night Western Caribbean Cruise. http://www.journeysofhopehealingandhealth.com/

I’m especially excited about teaching on a cruise for the first time! The Bereavement Cruise is a powerful transformational journey at sea honoring and celebrating the lives of our lost loved ones. It offers a healing opportunity for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, no matter how much time has passed.
I am one of a dozen instructors who are all dedicated to bringing comfort to those who have lost a loved one. I’ll be leading a couple of seminars, and also doing a hands-on workshop. There is still room on the cruise, so if you would like to spend time with me, and other people who care, please join us for an inspiring five day journey.
WORKSHOP: The Healing Power of Meditative Patterning
SEMINAR: Nurture Yourself After Loss

  7. I can’t wait to purchase your new app! That looks great. Thanks for sharing your creative journey today. I am so happy to think there is a bereavement cruise and that people will be guided by you and your seminar. That is wonderful!

  8. Thank you so much for sharing and allowing us to use your designs. I believe that the word “Luck” is kind of taboo and not real. So instead of “I wish you luck” , I like to say ” I wish you enough”. When asked what that means I politely say that it means all things are possible through prayer and faith. So “I wish you enough”.
