Hi Everyone,
I was touched tonight when my children excused themselves to wish their “other mothers” Happy Mother’s Day. They reached out first to family members, and then to the people who have had a positive impact on their lives: long-time family friends, a beloved neighbor, our former nanny, and their closest friends’ mothers.
I’m following their example, and using my new blog to say THANK YOU to the many wonderful people who have accompanied me as I journey through motherhood. Some of you live nearby and know my children; some of you have never met them… but you have all made a difference in their lives. Thank you for listening to my frustrations, making helpful suggestions, celebrating my children’s triumphs and sharing your wisdom with me. My children are stronger, happier people thanks to your input, and I am deeply grateful for your friendship and advice. But in the child-rearing department there is no one who has influenced me more than my own mother. It wasn’t until after I became a parent that I began to recognize and truly appreciate all the things that my mom has done, and continues to do, for me. So I’m dedicating tonight’s blog post to my amazing mom: you have inspired me more than you know, and my love and appreciation for you deepens with every passing year.
Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day!
Stay Zenspired,
Joanne
