Do What Calls to Your Soul

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Hi Everyone,

Last week I had the privilege of teaching at Legacies, the 33rd Annual International Calligraphy Conference. What a wonderful week! One of the things which made it so special was being able to spend time with people who share my passion for lettering.

No matter what your passion is, it is important to make time to pursue it– and to spend time with those who share it. It’s when I’m doing what calls to my soul that I feel most alive. I’d love to know what you are passionate about– please leave a comment to let me know… and please leave your e-mail address if you’d like a reply.

Stay Zenspired,

Joanne

  1. And what a wonderful week it was, due in part to your beautiful spirit and excellent teaching. I'm so inspired! THANK YOU.

  2. Hi, Joanne. It was so wonderful to see you last week and to catch up with you. You have always been so encouraging to me, and I am grateful for your support! All the best to you, my friend!!!!

  3. One of the best weeks I've ever spent, and one of the best highlights was meeting YOU! Zentangle has been such a joy and pleasure to me for the past four years, and I have been a CZT for two years…but my longstanding love affair with letters was finally fulfilled this week at Legacies II! I knew the first hour of my first workshop that I had come home to my real passion – Zentangle has changed how I see myself as an artist, I will always love it (and it paid for my week at Legacies!), but lettering and this intimate exposure to such wonderful instructors blessed and inspired me in a profound way. It's lettering that calls my soul, and YOU are such a big part of that blessing and inspiration.

  4. my passion is the pursuit of the Lord Jesus Christ! I am most alive when I can interact with anyone about this, especially if they are running the same race!

  5. Hi Joanne,
Thank you for ALL you do to inspire others!!!!! My passion, I believe, is the same as yours – spreading the love of Christ to as many souls as you can, using the charism you have been given…. 🙂

  6. My passion is being creative. I crochet and knit, the former for over 15 years. Making something with my hands is rewarding and something I love to do. I recently branched out to sewing and drawing. I purchased your books and I am venturing out into to zenspired art. I get lost in the moments I can sneak in one of my passions. I always have a bag with something creative in it to do while waiting in line or between one of the kids lessons. Doing something creative keeps me centred and realize sometimes when you make a mistake (especially in yarn choice) the best thing you can do is start again.

  7. I love to play the piano! I'm even pretty good at it. The other thing that feeds my soul is copying your work for my own enjoyment! Thank you so much for sharing with me!!

  8. I used to think my motto was "Find your passion and live it." but I've revised it to be "Find your passion and SHARE it." I like this better, so now I teach and am enjoying the journey taking others with me. Thanks for your post.
